Casinos in Mozambique
The basic rareness in the numbers of, Mozambique's casinos is in a sense somewhat puzzling, in one way or another.
In past times, the territory was a place where a lot of South Africans would drop by to escape from the incredibly restricting policies on gambling (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. Hence, you may anticipate something of a booming spot to oblige that tourist sector.
Still, perhaps it isn't particularly a discovery. The city is evidently the poorest world wide, having been through a gruesome civil war (followed by shattering floods) from which it is still, very slowly, recovering. This tends to make a location a lot less of a tourist destination, although there is now a developing setting along a couple of the state's breathtaking beaches.
It is at the same time valid that regionally at least, casinos in Mozambique have had to compete with many others in the freshly liberalized South Africa, which comprises of the recognized Sun City founded by the Kerzner family organization.
Here's a list of Casinos in Mozambique:
Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel
There are seventy-eight slot machines as well as video poker games, five tables of American roulette, four blackjack tables, also 1 poker table.
Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino
There are 40 slot machines, American roulette, as well as 2 tables for poker as well as punto banco.
It is thought that over time the whole tourism sector in Mozambique will build productively. While the local languages are, apparently, African, there is as well the balance of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the new and growing inception of English, both from South Africa and as part of the world phenomenon. The country is quite cheap (evidently, as it is extremely poor) and as above, has some of the most breathtaking beaches world wide, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the sorts of features that make tourism agents drool, and as the country climbs out of its current slump, it is likely that not only will tourism grow, but that the list of casinos in Mozambique will grow longer for sure.
While the country is skeptical to ever reclaim its image as a spot for partying South Africans, as there are now other selections closer to home for them to derive pleasure in, the enhancement of a long distance tourism industry is being planned. This would be to accommodate Europeans bargaining on winter sun, as a break from the dullness of the Northern Hemisphere winter. And, of course, the greatest prawns (shrimp) around the world come from just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
